The basic idea of this course design is to train students to have the professional work skills of “Orthodox” Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM). The department firmly believes that the business community has a great influence on the functions of Orthodox IEM (such as production management, quality management, reduction Cost, etc.), will never disappear, but will evolve with the harsh environment of today’s global competition. The demand of IEM talents will be more ardent, but the concept and technology of traditional IEM will not be eliminated until 20 Today, the first century must be supplemented with the help of modern “information technology and tools” to adapt to today’s business environment and to exert more functions to help enterprises reduce costs, improve quality, enhance productivity and even enhance their overall competitiveness , For example, using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in production management to optimize scheduling of production lines; using Data Mining techniques in quality management to assist and automate traditional charting functions; Big Data Processing Technology in Marketing Management to Enhance Customer Relationship Management Energy and ability to develop new customers and so on.

Therefore, the characteristics of this course design, that is, to try to maintain the orthodox IEM learning and training their own academic ability, combined with the appropriate amount of skills training in the processing of information technology to enable students in addition to having a solid IEM basic learning, but also Can take advantage of modern information processing technology, strengthen or even innovate IEM basic skills in the role of the modern enterprise. All teachers in this department have bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees closely related to the field of IEM. Many teachers and rich industry experience have absolute advantages in teaching and training Orthodox IEM’s own professional ability. In addition, Department of the teacher’s research expertise, mainly in the use of advanced information processing technology to solve the problem of the traditional field of IEM.

Under the basic concept of curriculum design described above, the course structure of this department is based on the technical skills required of students for future job positions to focus on the three main professional skills of Orthodox IEM (production management, quality management, and management ) Of the formation, respectively, as detailed below:

(A) four technical department

At the Quad-Tech section, students with three modules, Production Management and Information, Quality Management and Information, and Business Management (Management), all share common core expertise in IEM through seminars and workshops (Please refer to the department’s course map), and then strengthen the professional skills of each module through the elective courses of “Production Management”, “Quality Management” and “Operation Management” respectively , And at the same time, practice the courses in the “Information Module” to acquire the technical capabilities of information processing. The modules of the General Modules provide students with other general skills required in the work of modern enterprises.

Based on Capstone, a third-year and fourth-grade “practical topics” course, students will practice how to integrate the IEM professional skills theory learned in the course of this course Solve a practical problem. Then, through “off-campus internship” courses, students can further observe, understand and practice IEM’s professional skills in a real manufacturing or service environment. The Department also coaches and awards students with certificates related to IEM’s professional skills to reinforce their employability.

(B) master’s class

In the master’s course, I focus on the development of three professional skills (production management, quality management and management) of IEM. However, since the education goal of the master’s course mainly focuses on cultivating mid-to-high-level practitioners in IEM field, , In addition to writing and writing essay courses, training students to independently learn, think, and problem solving skills, but also supplemented by higher-level information tools to use training courses, such as learning artificial intelligence, machine learning, data exploration advanced Information processing tools. In the developed part of IEM professional skills, emphasis will be placed on advanced or practical courses such as Total Quality Management, Supply Chain Management or Enterprise Resource Planning So that students have the professional skills they need to work in mid to high level IEM upon graduation. The acquisition of IEM professional and language proficiency licenses is also the focus of the master’s program.

(C) Master’s in-service class

In the part of master’s in-service special classes, most of the students motivated to take up the next career due to their masters’ in-service special classes. Therefore, in terms of curriculum design, in addition to strengthening and practicing Relevant curricula, such as “Business Management and Diagnosis,” also reduce the more advanced mathematics-related courses. In addition, students are encouraged to incorporate the practical aspects of their work into the research and writing of the essay so as to strengthen and integrate students’ On my own job, IEM has core competencies.

(D) Common professional curriculum planning

Currently planned common courses, including: economics (a), management, accounting (a), statistics (a). The future will be towards the direction of curriculum integration, then the effectiveness of streamlining of personnel can be achieved. Faculty teachers may be more specialized in their fields of expertise and teach related professional courses and research.

(E) Cross-cutting programs

Currently, there are (1) Integrated Business-to-Business Programs for students in Engineering, Asset Management, Department of Automation and Department of Mechanical Design. This course is intended for students who integrate manufacturing and e-commerce. Students can integrate and integrate relevant knowledge in their studies. (2) The Micro-Entrepreneurship Program includes the following courses: Entrepreneurship Management, Management Studies, Customer Relationship Management, Service Management, New Product Development Management, Business Automation, Human resources management, logistics management, to provide engineering management, asset management, finance, business management of the students practice.
